Yes. It's rather annoying when you're deleting newer messages that you're scrolled to the very bottom of the list (I do not want to reorder by oldest -> newest, I still want to see the newest emails first).
I also do not "unread" ll my messages straight away as I'm coming back to them.
Yes please! I'm coming from Postbox which has an option to choose which direction to move after delete, and the way deleting message works in eM Client is very annoying, I need to perform extra steps after every delete to read the next message.
So long as the current behaviour is still available, I support this. You need to take into account four cases:
Of course the last two could be very confusing if you have sorted a folder in anything other than date order...
I absolutely do not understand this complaint. When I delete a message, it automatically jumps to the next item in the list, exactly as I expect it to. And I'm a longtime Postbox user. What am I missing?
@bowesappleby Some users would like the jump to be to a Previous message instead of Next message, which is indeed a setting eM Client does not currently have.
We'll add this option to the next update. But the default Postbox behavior is exactly the same as the default eM Client behavior.
Yup! This is one aspect of using eM Client which continues to bug the heck out of me - how one cannot delete a message without reading it and the inability to easily return to a message you were just reading.
Assume you for 25 emails in your inbox, where message 25 is the oldest, and you are reading message 20 via the integrated message view (i.e. you did not open it to its own window). Suddenly, you get a new message. So, you scroll to the top of the list and based on the sender and subject you realize you can discard it, but when you click on the "Delete" (trashcan) icon you suddenly find yourself reading message 1 and there is no breadcrumb to return you to message 20!!!
Clicking the "Delete" icons in the message list should NOT alter which message is being viewed. While reading a message I'm constantly noticing other messages in the list which I can just remove and I really don't want to change where I am in the message list just to remove them.
This UI "quirk" is insanely frustrating.
