All I can say is that I'm constantly struggling with the spell checker... while I can manually force it to work in a different language, I'm not quite sure (yet!) how to avoid silly checks that happen automatically without user intervention, forcing me to go back and change it back manually — thus spending more time fixing what should never have been changed than to actually worry about the spell-checking...
I get mail in 4 different languages. Each time, I must select the appropriate language to avoid the "silly" substitutions. Other programs recognize the language automatically and adjust accordingly. I'd be willing to select a language for a given tread, but currently this is a major handicap.
EM Client could either detect the keyboard layout (which you can switch when you want to write in different languages) or it could allow for more than one language to be chosen when you select which languages it should spell-check for.
@drjemc The keyboard detection is already possible - you just need to set your spell-check language to "keyboard language" in Menu>Settings>General>Spell-checker.
This idea is specifically for users who desire automatic detection without having to identify the language manually or via keyboard.
@drjemc @olivia_rust Well, you're the best. Thank you! I'm new to eMC, and still learning how many features it has. I had not figured this one out, obviously.
