Exchange supports the flagging of emails with a date. However, if I flag an email in eM Client, it’s flagged with “No Date” (see attached pictures).
The flagging of emails with a date is crucial to my workflow. Some emails need taking care of next week Tuesday or the week after on Monday.
I understand that snoozing offers a similar functionality, but for me in a more complicated and cumbersome way:
• It removes emails from the inbox. There is research showing that removing emails from the inbox (e.g., after they’re read) like in the Zero Inbox method actually decreases performance. Moreover, I might want to take a look at an email even if it’s snoozed. I don’t want to start looking for an email in another folder. All incoming emails are in my inbox and remain there forever. The only thing that changes is whether I’ve read them and their flag status. It a simple principle that I want to stick to.
• In addition to a date, it asks for a time. I don’t need the added complexity of choosing a time and compared to flagging with a date, it makes the process slower. I also often don't know the time that I will be wokring on the email.
• It re-sends a notification. The last thing I want is another notification. I’ve seen the email, I decided when to handle it, and there is no need to send me another notification.
Agreed! I can do it on my 3rd party app that also connects to google and microsoft and it's handy
