The current mechanism to attach tags to an email is cumbersome and inefficient, because:

you can only select one tag at a time
you can't search for tags, so you are forced to scroll to find the tag you are looking for

It would be great to have an updated pop-up box that allows the user to search for and select multiple tags in one go.

Have you tried these?

Hold CTRL when selecting tag - as long as you hold CTRL button, the tag options will stay open and you can add or remove more tags at once.
you can use the search key tag: to include specific tags in your search, after you type tag: the list of your tags should pop up so you can select them.
