As old postbox-app-user i have a problem with the inefficient print dialog of em-client.
I have defined a system shortcut on my mac. With this, i can press CMD-P twice... first opens the print dialog, the second select "Save as PDF...".
I need this way to save mails as PDF to my document management system (Devonthink). (Not all, but necessary mails.)
With Postbox-App i had to press CMD-P twice. (2 key strokes)
With em-client i have to press CMD-P, Tab, Tab, Tab, Tab, Tab, Tab, Tab, Tab, Tab, Space and CMD-P again. (13 key strokes)
The simplest solution is, when the system print dialog is used as default. Em-client has implement a own dialog. My suggestion is to create a option in the settings, where us allows to set the system print dialog as default instead the own dialog.
I'm sure it can't be your company's philosophy to make important functions that are used every day as complicated as possible. Surely a developer can understand that there are many users who prefer to work with the keyboard rather than the mouse.
I understand if there is no solution at the moment, but surely em-client is listening to its users and trying to improve its product?
What about saving directly as pdf without printing. Use control-shift-s, select pdf format and save it, I guess it is even quicker than with Postbox.
Good idea, but unfortunately is it not so easy on a mac. Here i need this keystrokes to save a email as pdf (without mouse):
CMD-S, Enter Filename, Tab, Tab, Tab, Tab, Tab, Tab, Tab, Down, Down, Enter, Tab, Enter
But, now i have found a solution with bettertouchtool2. I have created a action-set.
