1 - I do not need “AI”… I have my own “HI” and can compose my own messages…I do, however need a decent (ish) working junk mail filter as in Postbox and not the cop out response “log in to your webmail to mark, unmark, junk mail”…what’s the point in having an email client that tells you in the “support section” to use webmail!!!
This program is far, far too complicated and obviously has far too much programmer influence, and not enough ergonomic /user influence. It’s just a sort of stream of endless links and references to other sections (not always a good thing as tends to focus on personal “my job here is to” concepts and not user concepts, rather than just creating and clicking on a button)… sorry but not feeling the love so far
2 - And a smart search where read/unread is not a criteria? Wow!!
3 - This is the reply received from the eMClient support service to the same points as above which proves my point (in my opinion) - too many programmers and not enough user type support - how long is this reply received, just like the pages and pages and rows and rows of setup options to not be able to get the functionality desired...?????😢 please try to be more succinct

If you don’t want to use AI and you enabled that when you installed / setup eM Client, then you can disable that via “Menu / Settings (Preferences) / Mail / Artificial Intelligence”.

So if your own mail server spam engine is not very good, then eM Client has Rules that you can setup including a Blacklist to automatically move incoming senders email to the Junkmail folder.

To setup Rules and/or a Blacklist in eM Client up to V9, go to “Menu / Rules” (Pc) or “Tools / Rules” (Mac).
To setup Rules in V10, go to “Menu / Rules” (Pc) or “Tools / Rules” (Mac). To setup a Blacklist in V10, go to “Menu / Settings (Preferences) / Mail / Blacklist”.
Also eM Client has Local and Server Side rules.

Every mail client is different until you learn them. eM Client is designed for everyone, and not just advanced users. You can configure the GUI and options to how you like it. If you have a problem, just post it on this community user forum and we can try and help.
You can also “suggest ideas” as to what you would like in eM Client via the following Sleekplan 1 share ideas and voting page.

We even have a Postbox category there so former Postbox users can discuss their experience and maybe help each other get used to the different options in eM Client.
The Sleekplan app is a platform designed to submit and vote for separate feature ideas, if you include 2 or more it's not clear which one the vote would be for. Also people voting for ideas would get notified when the feature is implemented, which would not be possible for a post which has multiple different ideas.
As for Spam filtering - yes, currently most Spam filtering is done locally using the Blacklist or custom rules (we have made an article on the topic some while ago - https://www.emclient.com/blog/622), you can use "Move to Junk and blacklist email/domain" to have your eM Client app remove spam emails from your Inbox.
But eM Client is also continually improving - we have added support for synchronized Blacklist and Whitelists with some mail servers recently (IceWarp and Smartermail) and hope to find way to synchronize with more services in the future.
